I didn't start here. I spent a long time figuring out who I was and what I was actually capable of building. I was a single mom, raising my oldest son while navigating situations that weren't working, always looking for the next plan, the next door, the next way to build something stable for us.

When my youngest was born I was facing a choice a lot of parents know too well. Go back to work and see my kids for dinner and bedtime, or figure out something else. So I sat down and made a list of what I was actually good at. What I could build. What I could sell from a kitchen table with a baby who wouldn't sleep. I built a website for an idea I was testing, and something happened. I fell completely in love with it. Not the tools. The moment when something vague and half-formed in someone's head becomes a real thing they can point to and say, that's it. That exists now because I made it.

Before I started Rootline I worked inside a web agency and watched clients pay thousands for websites they couldn't access, couldn't edit, and couldn't leave. Dependency engineered on purpose. People trapped on purpose. I knew exactly what I wasn't going to build.
