Terms of Service

Important: By accessing or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site or engage my services.

By accessing my website at rootlineweb.co, you agree to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on Rootline Web Co.'s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

• modify or copy the materials;
• use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
• attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on Rootline Web Co.'s website;
• remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
• transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" the materials on any other server.

Every build is quoted before anything is signed. A quote is good for 30 days, and signing locks the price for that build.

Every build is paid in four parts: 20% of the contract price on signature, 20% when you choose one of the three home page directions in week one, 40% at handoff in week three, and 20% at launch. None of these payments is a retainer, and no monthly fees are owed to Rootline Web Co. afterwards.

Payments are made by card through a secure Stripe payment link, at no extra cost from Rootline Web Co. A client may instead pay with Klarna or Afterpay, in which case the full contract price is charged through that provider at signing and the provider sets the repayment schedule on its own terms. Clients outside the United States pay any currency exchange and international card fees. Some features run on outside services, such as card processing or a newsletter tool, which bill you directly. Any such service is explained before anything is built.

Signing gives you a start date. Builds start on Mondays, and when revisions are returned on schedule, most builds are completed within four weeks of the start date. An extended build follows the same steps with a longer build phase and is priced on its own, both set when it is quoted. Within 24 hours of signing you will receive an email and an intake form covering brand preferences, content and reference material. The completed intake is due one business day before your start date, so the build can be prepared.

If you cancel more than 14 days before your start date, the signing payment is refunded in full. Within 14 days of your start date it is not refunded, but it can be moved once to a later start date. You may pause a build at any time with nothing extra to pay, and pick it back up at the next open start date. If you stop after seeing the three home page directions, you keep them.

The first deliverable of a build is three home page design directions, presented together at a single link. They are working pages rather than finished ones. The direction you choose becomes the whole site, built on a live link you can watch. At handoff you send every change you want in one batch, covering any part of the work, including layout, structure, copy, imagery and the removal or addition of sections. This is the one full revision round included in every build. After it, new changes are quoted separately with their own timeline. Anything Rootline Web Co. got wrong, and anything broken, is always fixed free of charge, and bug fixes are free for 30 days after launch.

Once a build is paid in full, you own everything, and the files, domain, hosting and accounts are moved into your name.

One of One websites are sold once. On purchase, the listing is retired and the design will not be sold, copied, or re-used for another business. Once your site has launched, the sale is final and no refunds are issued.

The materials on Rootline Web Co.'s website are provided on an 'as is' basis. Rootline Web Co. makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

Read this section carefully. It limits my legal liability to you.

In no event shall Rootline Web Co. or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on Rootline Web Co.'s website, even if Rootline Web Co. or a Rootline Web Co. authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.

The materials appearing on Rootline Web Co.'s website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. Rootline Web Co. does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete or current. Rootline Web Co. may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.
